ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Lisa Mullenneaux has been a journalist for 20 years, specializing in travel writing. Her work has appeared in every major newspaper in the U.S. and Canada and in many national magazines. She began her publishing career in 1980 as copy editor for San Diego magazine and moved to Los Angeles in 1981 to become Senior Editor for Westways magazine. Under her editorial supervision, Westways consistently won Maggie Awards for travel writing and design.
She started freelancing in 1987 and in 1994 began regular visits to Vieques, Puerto Rico. She has written about Vieques for the Washington Post, Newsday, and other newspapers. Mullenneaux is a member of the Society of American Journalists and Authors, the National Writer's Union, and the Modern Language Association. She received a Master's degree in Comparative Literature from Penn State University in 1976.
